Bye Bye Campbell Creek…

Bye Bye Campbell Creek…

We had a wonderful three night (8/9-8/11) stay with Beth and Rip in Campbell Creek. Left this morning (8/12) around 7:30 for Oriental, NC then on to New Bern, NC. Yep, we’re retracing our tracks and going back where we came from. Seems counter productive but Michael is flying out of New Bern Thursday and it made more sense economically and logistically for me and the doggies to stay in New Bern.

Bye Bye Campbell Creek

We had a pretty rocky-rolly ride on Pamlico sound after leaving Campbell Creek. We got our isometric exercises in – just trying to stay upright. After about three hours we arrived at the free dock in Oriental. We were only there for the afternoon and night, but we had lots of folks stop by and say hi and tell us what a wonderful community Oriental is and maybe we should think about staying. They certainly are very friendly here.

Left Tuesday (8/13) morning, after refueling Scout and pumping her out. The trip to New Bern was a delightful calm three-hour journey. We arrived about 10:30 and Michael did some boat chores and I Ubered to Wally Mart for provisions. Wednesday was more of the same, lots of laundry, two dog washes and boat chores making sure all was in order for Michael to leave tomorrow.

Thursday (8/15) Michael leaves today and the doggies and I will make New Bern our home. Probably won’t post again until he returns but wanted to let you know we are here in New Bern for a couple of weeks…..

  1. Sharon, I just saw your video of the hail at Campbell Creek. Apparently it didn’t load the first time. OMG… I can see why you guys were up all night checking on things. I don’t think I’ve ever seen hail that big! I hope you have good weather while Michael is gone. You deserve it!

    1. Thanks Michelle, Yeah, it was pretty wild!
As I write this we are sitting at the dock in New Bern, NC and it has been raining all morning. Poor doggies haven’t even been for their morning walk.
      Hopefully, it will clear soon……

    1. Yeah, pretty small world. I saw a photo of you with your grandbabies on facebook. Adorable beyond words. You must have been in heaven!
      All the best…..
