Welcome
….to our blog. We are really not writers/bloggers but decided to create this blog to document our journey as we travel America’s Great Loop.
What is the America’s Great Loop you might ask ~ it’s a circumnavigation of the eastern U.S., and part of Canada. The route includes the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, the New York State Canals, the Canadian Canals, the Great Lakes, the inland rivers, and the Gulf of Mexico. Depending on which route is taken and which side trips you do the Loop is approximately a 6,000 mile journey. Fewer people complete it than climb Mt. Everest and people who do it are called “Loopers”
We also wanted our friends and family to know our whereabouts in hopes that some of you might join us along the way OR if we don’t come back you will have some idea of our “last siting”.
If anyone would like to find us in real time you can track us, just like Santa, through our Automatic Identification System (AIS). Just click on Vessel Finder, enter our MMSI number 368070120 (you could enter Scout but there are lots of Scouts out there and using the number will be easier). Our info will appear then click on the map to see where we are.
Also if you would like to keep up with us you can “subscribe” to our blog and you should receive emails as we post.
Anyway we miss all of our friends and family and hope that some of you will come join us along the way.
