ABOUT US

We are Sharon and Mike Bythewood along with our four-legged companions Snooki and The Duke. We lived and boated in San Diego, California for over 30 years. Throughout the years we have owned various power boats, including a 60’ Consolidated Commuter built in 1924, which we lived aboard in the 90’s. Mike also enjoys sailing and racing sailboats.

After retiring from the Real Estate and Construction industries we sold everything in San Diego and relocated our home address to Bend, Oregon. But, instead of moving into our Bend vacation home, we decided to go on a boating adventure and circumnavigate “America’s Great Loop”.  We purchased a 2004 Mainship 400 Trawler in Palacios, Texas, renamed her “SCOUT”, then cruised the short distance to a boatyard in Kemah, Texas to get ready for our journey. After about a month of preparation, we were ready to embark on our adventure.
