Sea Hag…..

Sea Hag…..

Sea Hag Marina in Steinhatchee, Florida….. If you have ever had a computer crash you know how horrible it can be and what we have been going through the last few days. It’s as though your whole life disappears! You’re going along just fine then the screen starts acting a little funny then goes completely BLACK! You yell at it – Noooooo, Noooooo, Noooooooo!!!  But it’s all gone! So for days Michael has been working on breathing some life back…

Oops…..

Our computer crashed so I haven’t been able to post for the last few days. Michael has worked very hard to get it to the point but I can’t get the photos to upload. Sorry for the long post Thursday, 2/20/19 Still in Apalachicola, Florida – Up this morning to pea soup fog again. Took the dogs for a walk and stopped by Café Con Leche for their delicious cinnamon buns. They bake them fresh each day so if you…

Wow, we’re not alone anymore….

Wow, we’re not alone anymore….

Pretty quiet couple of days In Apalachicola, Florida….. Tuesday, 2/19/19 – Overcast today but warm which allowed for a number of boat projects this morning. About noon we looked up to see two boats pulling up to the dock right behind us. Yeah, we have company and they are Loopers! Both boats are Mainships – a 350 and 430. We are a 400. After helping them tie up we all went to lunch together. Karen and Bob aboard the 430…

Today is National Drink Wine Day…

Today is National Drink Wine Day…

Saturday 2/16/19….Apalachicola, Florida. Woke up this morning to beautiful weather. One of the best weather days we’ve had so far! Michael saw a River Otter swim by the stern that headed across the channel towards two Bald Eagles perched on a tree stump. Beautiful! We have a six seat golf cart at our disposal to scout-about in. Appears that golf carts are a quite popular mode of transportation here and we see them everywhere. We took our cart for a scout-about…

Bye Bye Fort Walton Beach….

Bye Bye Fort Walton Beach….

Ok, so the part came and Michael, with the help of a generous FWYC club member, repaired the problem and “auto” is back ready to help Michael with the driving. Manager Tom came down to see us off. After lots of thank you’s and hugs we were off. Today is a long day to Pearl Bayou. We headed out across the Choctawhatchee Bay – the sun was shining and seas were flat. After about three hours on the open water…

First 30 days in review

First 30 days in review

Oops, still at Ft. Walton Yacht Club and will be for a few more days. On Thursday we took the boat just a few feet to use the yacht club’s pump out station – in non-nautical terms that would be getting all your sh#t off the boat. Anyway we discovered that the rudder reference indicator for the auto pilot had stopped working. Without it we have no auto pilot – not a good thing. Michael found the problem. Previously someone…

Think we’ll stay a while…

Think we’ll stay a while…

Monday and we’re still in Ft. Walton Beach at Ft. Walton Yacht Club. The club was closed today so it was pretty quiet. Although closed, club manager Tom brought us flowers. Said they were left over from an event and didn’t want them to go to waste – How nice is he??? It was pretty overcast and cold but the sun peeked out for just a little while late in the afternoon which prompted us to get Scout About down…

Feeling a little sad today

Feeling a little sad today

We left Pensacola Yacht Club yesterday morning about 8:00 am. It was cool, overcast and foggy. We used our radar as we left our slip for our five hour journey. The fog began to clear early although it was overcast most of the day. The trip was pretty uneventful – flat seas and very little traffic until we got about two hours out from Ft. Walton, Florida. Then we saw miles and miles and miles of what looked like 10,000…

Seeing Friends…..

Seeing Friends…..

A beautiful day in the neighborhood yesterday! Woke up to wonderful sunshine and blue skies. Still cold but shining sun is good.  We’re still at Pensacola Yacht Club and our slip is right on Bayou Chico and gives us a great view of the comings an goings of tug/barges and lots of “pleasure craft”, power and sail, all right off our bow. The view off our stern is of the rolling lawn up to the Clubhouse and pool. To our…
